about

Capitalists who think they're cowboys ruin everything.

lyrics

turquoise town lies sleeping
at the canyon’s edge
debris and tumbleweeds
betray it’s 100 years dead

old tracks still running
on the edge of town
last train passed through
before the hotel burned down

and that was 50 years ago
or so the barkeep said
“no fighting, no cussing”
the sign above her read

then the door swung open
and a shadow walked inside
he was as lanky and tall
as his rancher hat was wide

“it’s hotter than hell,” he bellowed
as his presence filled the place
he called for beer and whiskey
dragging a hand across his face

and he sat there looking critical
in a cloud of liquor cologne
“the guidebook said there was more here,
and there’s no signal on this phone”

so he paid for his order
and left no extra behind
he’s headed for the arroyo
to rope cattle in his mind
