about

Taos Pueblo in northeastern New Mexico is 1000 years old. There's no running water or electricity. The structures are made of mud adobe. It's starkly un-modern in every way. Yet it's more civilized than most of civilization.

lyrics

the heat comes in like a wrecking ball
the cold stings with its bite
singing the fat lady opera
the darkness confounded by light

caves gaping mouths of stalactite teeth
diesel breath death alight
terra births the creosote
pilgrims spend purchasing sight

the sun swallows sky behind a cloud
bathes the tableau in blood
8000 feet above the earth
face to face with God

save us from what we've become
save us from what we've become
save us from what we've become
save us from what we've become
